The Hawaii Motor Vehicle Department can provide additional information about transferring title and releasing liability when donating a car in Hawaii.

Donate a Car for Charity operates in Hawaii, as well as in the continental US. There are vehicle pick-ups in Ewa Beach, Kaaawa, Hilo, Wahiawa, Honolulu, Kauai, Maui, Pearl City, Kahului, and Wahiawa. In most cases, you must provide a clear title when you donate a vehicle. Please consult the Hawaii Motor Vehicle Department to determine procedures if you do not have a title. The HMVD will also be able to provide you with more information on how and when to release the liability of your donated vehicle.
